India logs 13,086 fresh Covid cases and 19 deaths in last 24 hours

As scientists investigate the probable causes of the recent increase in Coronavirus infections in the country, one of the numerous sub-variants of the main Omicron variant, BA.2.75, is being studied.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India recorded 13,086 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, down from 16,135 infections and 19 fatalities on Monday. The number of active cases has now reached 1,14,475 and 5,25,242 fatalities have been registered across the nation to far. According to health ministry data, 4,28,91,933 patients have been released.

During this time, the positive rate was 2.9 percent. Meanwhile, 19 additional deaths occurred on Tuesday, bringing the overall death toll to 5,25,242.

In the meantime, India’s recovery rate was 98.53 percent. In the previous 24 hours, a total of 12,456 patients recovered, increasing the overall number of recoveries to 4,28,91,933 across the country.

In addition, India administered 11,44,805 doses in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,98,09,87,178.

According to the statistics, 4,51,312 samples were analysed in the previous 24 hours.
