After receiving requests from students, the Union Health Ministry has postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Postgraduate, NEET PG 2022 test. Accepting aspirants’ wishes, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has now extended the deadline for internship completion. The official notice, as well as more information, can be found at natboard.edu.in.
The NEET PG 2022 internship deadline has been pushed back to July 31, 2022. As a result, those who can finish their internships by the deadline are now qualified to take the PG entrance exam. Previously, the deadline was set for May 31, 2022, and candidates had demanded a change.
The official notice on this change in eligibility criteria reads, “In continuation of the NBEMS notice dated 04.02.2022 and pursuant to the directions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt. of India vide its letter no. F. No. U11011/06/2021-MEC dated 15.02.2022, the cut-off date for completion of internship for the purpose of eligibility for NEET-PG 2022 has been extended to 31.07.2022. The cut-off for completion of internship as mentioned in the clause 4.1, 4.3, 4.10 and 13.2 of the information bulletin for NEET-PG 2022 should therefore be read accordingly.”
NEET PG 2022 Exam Date has also been revised after postponement and the new date is for May 21, 2022. While there are no official updates on the pending Supreme Court hearing, from what is known, aspirants were satisfied with the exam postponement but were still waiting for a change in deadline of the internship.
Recently, Supreme Court also pronounced its observations to aspirants seeking a clarity on EWS criteria with regards to NEET PG 2022. The Apex Court said that whatever it decides on the issue in the next hearing, will also be applicable to NEET PG Admissions 2022-23.
